In this article, I wanna let you know the list and details of Indian celebrities who become parents via surrogacy. This celebrity surely is an inspiration for us.

What Is IVF?

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process of fertilization where an egg is combined with sperm outside the body. After 2-6 days the fertilized egg transferred to the same or another woman’s uterus for successful pregnancy.

What Is Surrogacy?

Surrogacy is a method or agreement whereby a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person or persons, who will become the newborn child’s parent after birth.


13Ekta Kapoor – Single Mother

Ekta Kapoor is one of most successful producers in both filmy and serial way. She is the elder daughter of Veteran actor Jeetendra and TV producer, Shobha Kapoor. Ekta has been very close to Tusshar Kapoor and his son Laksshya. Years of babysitting her nephew sure inspired her to have a baby of her own.

Following the footsteps of her younger brother, Ekta Kapoor has opted for surrogacy and welcomes a baby boy named Ravie Kapoor through IVF and surrogacy. Ekta’s baby was born on January 27 and is perfectly healthy.


12Lisa Ray – Jason Dehni

Lisa Rani Ray aka Lisa Ray is an actress, model, television host, philanthropist, and social activist who was born on 4 April 1972. She appeared in several Hindi films and many international films. She made her debut in Hindi cinema with Tamil language film ‘Nethaji (1994)’.

The actress married management consultant Jason Dehni on 20 October 2012. Lisa Ray survived from blood cancer several years ago. Due to her age and health complicacy, she had to become a mother via surrogacy. On June 2018, they welcome their twin daughters Sufi and Soleil Ray Dehni through surrogacy.


11Farah Khan – Shirish Kunder

Bollywood popular choreographer and director Farah Khan got married to Shirish Kunder in on 9 December 2004, while she was at the age of 40. Farah and Shirish meet while they are working together in 2004’s romantic-action film ‘Main Hoo Na’. Shirish was the editor and Farah was the director of the film.

After marriage, the couple tried to have a baby naturally for several years. But due to some complicacy, they won’t able to become parents in the normal way. Later, the couple decided to go for In vitro fertilization (IVF). On February 11, 2008, Farah gave birth to triplets – one son (Czar Kunder) and two daughters (Diva Kunder & Anya Kunder). She said, IVF has worked as a blessing for her and has even suggested this procedure to many other women who are not able to conceive naturally. Farah has three children with husband Shirish Kunder- daughters Diva and Anya and son Czar.


10Aamir Khan – Kiran Rao

Actor and producer Aamir Khan got married to filmmaker Kiran Rao on December 28, 2005, after 3 years of separation from his first wife Reena Dutta. Aamir has two children from his first wife – a son (Junaid Khan) and a daughter (Ira Khan).

On 5 December 2011, Aamir and Kiran become parents of their first child (Son: Azad Rao Khan) via IVF surrogacy. The couple also tried the normal pregnancy. But due to Kiran’s miscarriage and other complications they had to go for IVF surrogacy.


9Shah Rukh Khan – Gauri Khan

Actor and producer Shah Rukh Khan married to Film producer, interior designer, costume designer, and fashion designer Gauri Khan on 25 October 1991. SRK fall in love after watching Gauri first time in a party. Before going through surrogacy, the couple has a son: Aryan Khan (Born: November 13, 1997) and a daughter: Suhana Khan (Born: May 22, 2000).

SRK and Gauri’s third child, AbRam Khan was born through surrogacy on May 27, 2013. Gauri and SRK had tried the normal way for two years. The couple also thought about adoption. But they decided to try surrogacy.


8Sohail Khan – Seema Khan

Actor, producer, and director Sohail Khan tied the knot to Seema Sachdev Khan in 1998. The couple had their first child (Son: Nirvaan Khan) in 2001.

Later they decided to have their second baby ten years after the birth of their first son, Nirvaan Khan. To avoid complications and other risks, the couple considered IVF surrogacy as an option and their second child, Yohan Khan, was born in June 2011.


7Krushna Abhishek – Kashmera Shah

In 2006 Kashmera separated from her husband and moved back to Mumbai permanently. Kashmera and Krushna first met at the set of Aur Pappu Pass Ho Gaya in 2007 after the separation from her first husband Brad Listermann. After dating for many years, Bollywood and Indian TV comedian Krushna Abhishek tied the knot to Kashmera Shah, who is almost 10 years elder than him on July 24, 2013.

In May 2017, the couple has welcomed twins via surrogacy. After trying hard to conceive naturally, Krushna and Kashmera welcomed their twin sons – Rayaan K Sharma and Krishaang K Sharma, via surrogacy.


6Lakshmi Manchu – Andy Srinivasan

Many of us may don’t know Lakshmi Manchu (Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna). Lakshmi Manchu is an Indian born film actress, producer and television presenter known for her works in Telugu and Bollywood cinema and American television. The actress is the only daughter of popular Telugu actor Mohan Babu. She has brother Vishnu Manchu (Telugu actor) and half-brother Manoj Manchu (Telugu actor).

Actress Lakshmi married twice, Her first husband was Srinivas and the second husband is Andy Srinivasan. Andy and Lakshmi were got married in 2006.

After trying so many times, the actress couldn’t conceive kids and she was very frustrated with her inability. But the actress didn’t give up hope. After some time the couple decided to go for surrogacy. On June 15, 2014, the couple welcomed a daughter and named her Vidya Nirvana Manchu Anand.


5Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan are one of the well-known star couples in Bollywood industry. After broke up with several actors and actresses the couple finally got married on April 20, 2007.

On November 16, 2011, the couple welcomed a baby daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. We all know Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was very much pregnant with Abhishek Bachchan’s child. But according to times of India report, Aishwarya and Abhishek did consult an IVF clinic in Bangkok, Thailand. This report makes us think differently about Aaradhya.


4Sunny Leone – Daniel Weber

Sunny Leone was born in Sarnia, Ontario to Sikh Punjabi parents. Before entering Bollywood, she worked at a German bakery, and later a tax and retirement firm and then worked in the porn industry. She also was studying to become a nurse. After having multiple relationships with famous personalities, in 2011 she mentioned in an interview that she was married to American actor and singer Daniel Weber. Although Sunny has the American citizenship, in 2012 she shifted to India and started her career in Bollywood film industry.

In June 2017, Sunny Leone adopted a baby girl after a long time process. She named the baby, Nisha Kaur Weber. Almost after one year, in May 2018, the couple becomes proud parents of two more twins boy via surrogacy. They named their newborn twins Asher Singh Weber and Noah Singh Weber.


3Shreyas Talpade – Deepti Talpade

Actor and director Shreyas Talpade tied the know with Deepti Talpade on December 31, 2004. Shreyas Talpade and Deepti have been married for 14 years now.

The couple was having some issues with normal pregnancy and that’s why they go for surrogacy. Shreyas Talpade and his wife Deepti became parents of a baby girl via surrogacy on May 7, 2018. Well, the name of the little angel is Aadya, which means “Mother Earth.”


2Tusshar KapoorSingle Father

Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor was in the news when he announced that he became the father of a child via surrogacy. Veteran actor Jeetendra and TV producer Shobha Kapoor’s only son Tusshar became a single father to a baby boy, who was born through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy on June 1, 2016.

The star family named the kid Laksshya Kapoor. Jeetendra, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta full family are so much happy to have a cute boy in the family. Both Tusshar (age: 47) and his elder sister Ekta Kapoor (age: 48) both aged 40+ and is still unmarried. Hope they marry soon.


1Karan Johar – Single Father

51 years old another unmarried celebrity actor, director, and producer Karan Johar (KJO). The filmmaker has become the single father of twins: a girl and a boy through surrogacy on 7 February 2017.

Johar named his son Yash Johar – after his father Yash Johar and his daughter Roohi Johar – rearranged from his mother’s name Hiroo Johar.
