Venkata Satyanarayana Prabhas Raju Uppalapati aka Prabhas is an Indian film actor, who predominately works in Telugu film industry from the year of 2002 to present. Prabhas has lots of nicknames, Mr. Perfect, Pubsi, Prabha, Rebel Star, and Darling.

Earlier Life

He was born on 23 October 1979 in Madras (present Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India to father Telugu film producer, U. Surya Narayana Raju, and mother Siva Kumari Uppalapati. Prabha’s uncle Krishnam Raju is also a film producer. Prabhas has an elder brother, Prabodh Uppalapati and an elder sister of Pragathi Uppalapati. Mr. Perfect is the younger member of the family.

Prabhas completed his high school education from the DNR University Campus, Sri Rama Puram, Balusumoodi, Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, India and graduated with a B.Tech. degree from Sri Chaitanya College, Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

Debut & Success

Prabhas made his film debut with the 2002 drama film Eeswar. Eeswar was directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee and starring Prabhas and Sridevi Vijaykumar in lead. Siva Krishna and Revathi played supporting roles. He gained good reviews from audiences.

Mr. Perfect appeared in his father’s produced 2009’s action film Billa co-starred Anushka Shetty and Namitha under his production banner Gopikrishna Movies Pvt Ltd. His father died on 12 February 2010.

Before Baahubali: The Beginning(2015) film, Darling(2010) and Mirchi(2013) was the turning point in his career. After Baahubali, he is now has joined the ranks of the world’s most famous personalities around the world. The Rebel Star becomes the first South Indian actor to have his own wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Bangkok.

Darling was made ₹55 crore in box office from the budget of ₹21 crore. Then Baahubali, Baahubali: The Beginning was collected ₹200 crore from the budget of ₹650 crore Worldwide. In 2017, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion collects ₹250 crore from the budget of ₹1700 crore Worldwide.

The darling star made his Bollywood debut with an item song in Prabhudeva’s 2014 action film Action Jackson.
