Sonam Kapoor is a well-known actress and model who is primarily working in the Bollywood film industry. She was born on 9 June 1985, in Mumbai, Maharastra, India. She is one of the highest paid actresses in the Bollywood industry. The actress also nicknamed Giraffe, Senior, Sana, Sonz.
Kapoor is the elder daughter of well-known Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. The actress has two younger siblings, a sister, and a brother. Her father is a famous actor and mother, Sunita, is a former model and designer. She is the niece of film producer Boney Kapoor and actress Sridevi. Since the young age, Sonam wants to be an actress. Bollywood star Ranvir Singh is her maternal cousin. Sonam’s grandmother(Nani) and Ranvir’s grandmother(Dadi) were siblings.
Debut & Succes Story
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to cast her as a lead role in a movie but he wants her to experience the Bollywood film first. That’s why he takes her as an assistant director on his drama film Black in 2005.
After that, Kapoor finally made her debut as a lead actress in Bhansali directed romantic film Saawariya in 2007. That didn’t do well at the box office. In 2009, she back with a dram film Delhi-6 and gives her good reviews. In 2010, she got her first turning point movie I Hate Luv Storys which was commercially very much successful and got too much attention from fans. From ₹30 crore budget, the movie collects ₹82.5 crore at the box office.
In 2016, she played an air hostess role in the thriller action film Neerja. For this film, she gained 10 awards from various award functions including Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards. Sonam Kapoor said she believed Neerja is her turning point movie.

Sonam Kapoor tied the knot to longtime alleged boyfriend, Delhi based businessman and entrepreneur Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018. Like last year(2017)’s Virat and Anushka wedding is believed to be the biggest wedding of the year so far.
Sonam Kapoor’s Mehendi ceremony will take place at her aunt Kavita’s residence Sunteck Signature Island, Bandra Kurla Complex. While her wedding ceremony which took place on May 8, at lunch at Rockdale, 226, Bandstand, Bandra. Almost all Bollywood celebrities were present at the reception including superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
