Who Is Shraddha Kapoor?
Shraddha Kapoor is an Indian actress and singer who mainly works in the Bollywood film industry. She is the daughter of veteran Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor and former actress Shivangi Kolhapure. Her family and friends use to call her by ‘Chirkoot’. While working on Saaho (2018) Film, co-star Prabhas gave her a new name ‘Haseena’.
Although, she first appeared in 2010’s thriller film ‘Teen Patti’ as a supporting artist, debuted her career as a lead actress in 2011’s drama film ‘Luv Ka The End’. In 2013, Kapoor starred in Bollywood romantic drama ‘Aashiqui 2’ as a leading actress, which was considered as a breakthrough film in her career.
Early Life
Chirkoot was born on 3 March 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father Shakti Kapoor is one of the popular actors and comedians in the Bollywood film industry. Her mother Shivangi Kapoor also is a former Bollywood actress and singer.
Shraddha has an elder brother Siddhanth Kapoor is also a Bollywood actor. Her two aunts Padmini Kolhapure and Tejaswini Kolhapure were 80’s popular actresses in the Hindi film industry. She is the great-niece of Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Meena Khadikar, Usha Mangeshkar and Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
Shraddha started her schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School in Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She shifted to the American School of Bombay when she was just 15 years old. Actress Athiya Shetty and actor Tiger Shroff were her schoolmates in that school. In an interview in 2016, both Kapoor and Shroff admitted that they had a crush on each other in school, but never proposed to each other. After schooling, Kapoor admitted to the department of psychology at Boston University to major in psychology in Boston, USA. But she has not completed her graduation and decided to pursue her career in the Bollywood film industry.

In 2013, she appeared on to Mohit Suri directed the romantic film ‘Aashiqui 2’ as a leading actress. Bhushan Kumar and Mukhesh Bhatt produced the film under their production house T-Series and Vishesh Films. ‘Aashiqui 2’ made ₹110 crores at the box office from the small budget of only ₹15 crores.
