Who Is Akshay Kumar?
Akshay Kumar is a popular Indian actor, producer, martial artist, stuntman and television personality who is primarily work in Bollywood industry. He was born on September 9, 1967, in Amritsar, Punjab, India. By birth, his name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia but he is widely known as Akshay Kumar. He also called by some nicknames like Mac, Akki, Khiladi etc.
Earlier Life
He is the only son of former army officer Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. Kumar also has a younger sister named Alka Bhatia. His family was lived in Chandni Chowk then shifted to Mumbai.
Akshay finished his school from Don Bosco School, Matunga and then take admission on Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Mumbai for higher education. Unfortunately, he dropped out after a year-end and went to Bangkok to learn martial arts. During studying martial arts he also worked in a Thai restaurant and leaned making of Thai foods. He also worked as a chef at a restaurant in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Debut and Success
After returning back to Mumbai, he started to teach martial arts to students. One of his students recommends him for a modeling assignment. Akki earns ₹5000 rupee for 2 days modeling and which is the lot more than his one-month income. So he decided to fulfill his childhood dream which is to be an actor. Then his journey started. After the success of his modeling project soon he got an offer from the film industry.
Khiladi made his first debut to Bollywood with a small role which is a 15-second role in the film Aaj (1987). He debuts as a lead role opposite Raakhee and Shanti Priya in 1991’s film Saugandh. His 2nd film was Dancer(1991), which is not able to give him good reviews. But in 1992, Abbas Mustan directed film Khiladi was the breakthrough for his career.
Kumar is also a producer. His first produced movie is Singh is Kinng, which is a romantic comedy film released in 2008. Later he produced dozens of films including Airlift(2016) and Rustom(2016). Akki’s Production Name is Hari Om Entertainment Co, which was established by him in 2008. In 2011, he along with Ashvini Yardi started another production house named Grazing Goat Pictures and OMG – Oh My God! (2012) was the first film from this house. In 2016, Akshay Kumar And Ashvini Yardi Parted Ways.

Akshay married former actress and Bollywood legend Rajesh Khanna and actress Dimple Kapadia’s elder daughter Twinkle Khanna on January 17, 2001. Together they have a son Aarav Kumar(Born: September 15, 2002) and a daughter Nitara Kumar(Born: September 25, 2012).
